Paul Blart: Mall Cop Movie Review - Plot

The movie opens at the New Jersey State Police Academy in the autumn of 2008. Paul Blart (Kevin James), a single father, tries out to be a cop. He does surprisingly well on the obstacle course despite his size, but passes out due to hypoglycemia, and fails the course.He lives with his mother and daughter, who tries to find him a girlfriend on a dating website, as his wife had previously left him, and he had been feeling lonely ever since. He tries to make ends meet as a security officer at West Orange Pavilion Mall. He takes the job very seriously, but receives no respect from the patrons. The next day, Blart is introduced to a new trainee named Veck Sims. Blart takes him on a tour of the mall, teaching him the basics. While patrolling the mall, Blart sees – and falls for – a kiosk owner, Amy. After a few attempts to muster up courage, Blart tries to talk to Amy, but awkwardly asks for hair products instead. Upon their second “meeting”, Blart offers to give Amy a ride to her car on his Segway, and they agree to meet later in a bar where the mall staff are regular patrons. Unfortunately, Blart accidentally gets drunk, and humiliates himself in front of everybody present. Thinking he has ruined his chances with Amy, Blart returns home in low spirits. Later, Blart’s co-worker offers him his daughter’s phone so Blart could call Amy.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps movie open with Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) is released from prison in 2001 after eight years behind bars. He leaves the prison hoping to find a car waiting for him but there is no one. Hes alone.

Seven years Later, Jacob “Jake” Moore (Shia Lebouf) is awakened in his apartment by his girlfriend, Winnie (Carey Mulligan). Jake turns on the television and there is an interview with Gekko on television. Gekko has become an author and a lecturer promoting his new book, Is Greed Good? Winnie gets upset and throws the remote at the TV after Jake doesnt turn it off. Winnie is Gekko’s estranged daughter and wants nothing to do with him. Jake drives Winnie to the airport on his motorbike and she goes off to gather investors for her online political magazine.

Jake goes to work at Keller Zabel Investments, a banking institution. He tries to raise more money for a fusion research project which will be a viable source of alternative energy down the line but the rest of the board doesnt agree with him. Jake is one of the firms top brokers and the protégé of its managing director, Lewis Zabel (Frank Langella). Zabel has become disillusioned with the industry and doesnt understand how he can be told a loss is a profit. He gives Jake a 1.5 million dollar bonus and tells him to spend it and keep the economy going. Zabel also encourages Jake to marry Winnie and have a kid since he knows that growing old isnt for the weak and that Jake needs her.  Read more... Ravan is a drastic disaster.The most awaited indian movie of yhe last three years from most talented movie maker of india disappointed everyone.Expecially the hindi version.The tamil version is watchable, more precisely a must watch one.

The impatient wait to see Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavan’ has ended, in its place I feel a terrible sense of disappointment. The visual epic we had longed to see onscreen is beautiful to watch, of course. But it lacks a soul. The promotional interviews which had the actors praising each other look so fake and naive now. For, most of the actors, with the exception of Priyamani, Ravi Kissen and Govinda, fail to make an impact on the viewer. Including Abhishek Bachchan, Vikram and Aishwarya Rai.

As everybody knows, the storyline of the film has been inspired by epic ‘Ramayan’. Beera Munda (Abhishek), a dacoit who lives in the jungles, abducts Raagini (Aishwarya), wife of Police Superintendent Dev (Vikram). And it was obvious that Mani Ratnam wanted to tell the story from the perspective of the anti-hero, as the title suggests. If Raavan in the epic is a ten-headed titan, Beera is a schizophrenic modern Robin Hood, who plans to wreak revenge on Dev for the cruelties the latter had inflicted on his sister (Priyamani).However, after sitting through the movie that spans about two hours and ten minutes, one feels short-changed for many reasons. The story isn’t gripping, the songs are largely mundane, and the treatment is largely on expected lines though the actors do try to pull up the mundane to the next level with some show of spunk.  Read more...
