Television is one of the most widely used electronic device and you are most likely to find at least one television set in a house. Years ago we could only watch television in black and white. Then came colour, and then the screens themselves started getting bigger and bigger.

Television has certainly come of age in recent years. Now we can pause television programmes, watch them at different times, select what we want to see and when, and much more besides. But is it worth buying a new television that is ready to show high definition programmes?
