In October 2007 Erich Fackert stepped in to conduct eight performances of the world famous musical Les Miserables with the Panorama Theatre Company at the Frankston Arts Centre, with just two days notice!
After rave reviews for the conducting of The Merry Widow Erich Fackert was Musical Director for the Australian premiere of Verdi's Il Corsaro, which was highly acclaimed by the press. In September 2007 he was again Musical Director of the Australian Premiere of Verdi's Attila, received rave reviews for his conducting and also sang the role of Uldino in one of the performances.
He gave his debut as tenor in the role of Arturo in Lucia Di Lammermoor with Melbourne City Opera in June, 2007, and also conducted as part of the season.
Erich Fackert was Principal Cantor with St Patrick's Church, Mentone, from 2006 to 2007. The launch of "Curtain Up" in April, 2007, received rave reviews and there are more shows scheduled for Melbourne, Geelong, and Sydney.
In April 2008 Erich Fackert worked with Susanna Rigacci and Gennaro Sica during a stage craft course in Florence, Italy, singing excerpts from Fidelio, Traviata and Otello.
Erich Fackert will be Musical Director for both of Melbourne City Opera's productions of Fidelio and Ernani in 2008. He has further been engaged to perform Bach's Coffee Cantata, understudy the role of Florestan and to sing in various concerts in Italy.
